The area now known as Town of Trophy Club is rich with a history that dates back to 1847. That year Charles and Matilda Medlin left Missouri and came to settle along the banks of Denton Creek, along with some 20 other families. The creeks constant flooding soon caused them to an area of higher ground. That area has since become what is now the Town of Trophy Club. Evidence of the Medlin family is located in the heart of Trophy Club. Medlin Cemetery, designated as a Texas historical landmark in 1977, was the final resting place of Mittie Ann Medlin. The story has been passed down that before she died April 15, 1850 at the age of 21, she expressed her wish to her parents to be buried on this hill because of the beautiful views. In 1973, construction of Texas? first premiere planned community centering around a country club began. The course was designed by Ben Hogan, one of the greatest golfers in history. As Trophy Club began to grow it eventually became incorporated as a town in 1985. Today the population of Trophy Club has grown to 7,400 with a wide range of home prices from the low $100?s up to $1,000,000. With careful planning and consideration of the residents needs, the town constantly reviews plans to ensure that the community maintains the neighborhood atmosphere that residents have come to treasure. Trophy Club is located within a major growth area within close proximity to both Dallas and Fort Worth. Within minutes of all areas of the Metroplex, the town is in a prime area for work or play. inside the town itself is a number of parks, miles of existing pathways, and a community swimming pool. The population is expected to reach 10,177 by 2013.
